Research overview

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide secretagogue, His-D-2-methyl-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys with a C-terminal amide, listed as a GHRP-6 analogue. It is studied in vitro and in preclinical models for binding and signalling at the ghrelin receptor GHS-R1a. Supplied at 2mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.

Hexarelin activates GHS-R1a and, like related secretagogues, raises intracellular calcium through Gq signalling. The literature also reports that it binds the scavenger receptor CD36 on cardiac and vascular cells, a property not shared by every peptide in this class. That has made it a tool for separating GHS-R1a-dependent from CD36-dependent signalling in cell and preclinical models, although the relative weight of each pathway is still debated.

Laboratory use includes receptor-binding and calcium assays in GHS-R1a-expressing cells, comparative studies against GHRP-2, GHRP-6 and ipamorelin, and cultured cardiomyocyte work on survival signalling pathways. Receptor desensitisation after repeated exposure is another recurring topic, as is the stability of the peptide in culture media over a working day. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 2mg vial.

Each lot of Hexarelin is released with a certificate recording identity and purity. Enter the lot number printed on your vial on the lab testing page to view it.

Questions

How does hexarelin differ from GHRP-6?

Hexarelin is a close analogue of GHRP-6 with a 2-methyl group on the D-tryptophan residue. Both act at GHS-R1a, but the literature also reports CD36 binding for hexarelin.

How is hexarelin supplied?

It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 2mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute with a suitable laboratory diluent only when required.

Is hexarelin a medicine?

No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
