Research overview
Livagen is a four-residue peptide, Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala (KEDA), from the Russian peptide bioregulator family and listed as a Khavinson family peptide. It is studied for effects on chromatin state and gene expression in lymphocyte and liver-cell models. Supplied at 20mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.
Livagen is described as the liver-associated tetrapeptide of the family. Early reports on cultured lymphocytes described changes in chromatin condensation and in the activity of heterochromatin regions after exposure to the peptide, which led to proposals that it may relax tightly packed chromatin. The same group extended the idea to liver cell models. These results come from a restricted set of laboratories and have seen little independent testing.
In the laboratory, lymphocyte and hepatocyte cell cultures are used, with chromatin condensation measured by microscopy, DNA methylation and histone modification assays, and qPCR of liver-related genes. Peptide-DNA binding assays and mass spectrometry identity checks are common, and uptake of such a short, charged sequence is usually followed with labelled analogues. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 20mg vial.

Questions
What does the Livagen sequence look like?
It is the tetrapeptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala (KEDA). It shares the Glu-Asp core found in several related bioregulator peptides, with lysine at the start and alanine at the end.
How is Livagen supplied and stored?
It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 20mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute with a suitable laboratory diluent only when the material is needed.
Is Livagen a medicine?
No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
