Research overview

Bronchogen is a short bioregulator-type peptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu (AEDL). It is studied in bronchial epithelial cultures for gene expression, proliferation and cell senescence, and belongs to a family of very short peptides described mainly by one research group. Supplied at 20mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.

Bronchogen belongs to the peptide bioregulator family described by the Khavinson group in St Petersburg. These di-, tri- and tetrapeptides are proposed to enter cells and nuclei and to bind specific DNA sequences or histone-associated proteins, changing chromatin state and gene expression in the tissue they were derived from. In bronchial epithelial cell models, Bronchogen has been reported to affect proliferation markers and senescence-associated genes. The mechanisms are hypotheses, and few independent groups have tested them.

Laboratory work uses bronchial epithelial cell lines and primary cultures, with readouts such as proliferation assays, senescence-associated beta-galactosidase staining, qPCR of lung-related genes and immunostaining for epithelial markers. Chromatin accessibility and DNA-peptide binding experiments also appear in the literature. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 20mg vial.

Questions

What kind of compound is Bronchogen?

It is a four-residue peptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu, from the group of short peptide bioregulators. In that literature it is linked to bronchial tissue, and it is studied for effects on gene expression in epithelial cells.

How is Bronchogen supplied and stored?

It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 20mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute with a suitable laboratory diluent only when the material is needed.

Is Bronchogen a medicine?

No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
