Research overview
FTPP, also called Adipotide, is a synthetic peptide conjugate that pairs a cyclic targeting sequence (CKGGRAKDC) with a pro-apoptotic motif built from D-amino acids. It is used in studies of adipose vasculature and targeted internalisation through prohibitin. Supplied at 2mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.
The targeting sequence is described in the literature as binding prohibitin, which can be displayed on the surface of endothelial cells in certain vascular beds. The second part, a repeated D(KLAKLAK) motif, is an amphipathic sequence that disrupts mitochondrial membranes once the conjugate is taken into a cell. Together they were designed as a targeted pro-apoptotic probe. Published work comes from a small set of groups, and reports in cell and preclinical models should be read with that limit in mind.
Laboratory work includes endothelial cell binding and internalisation assays by fluorescence microscopy, mitochondrial membrane potential and caspase assays, and co-culture experiments with adipocytes and endothelial cells. Competition with free targeting peptide is a standard specificity control. The Cys1-Cys9 disulfide is checked by mass spectrometry. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder.

Storage and handling
Store the lyophilised powder in a freezer, protected from moisture and light, and let the vial reach room temperature before opening. Reconstitute with an appropriate laboratory diluent and keep reconstituted material cold.
Certificates of analysis
Each lot of FTPP Adipotide is released with a certificate recording identity and purity. Enter the lot number printed on your vial on the lab testing page to view it.
Questions
What are the two parts of FTPP?
One part is a cyclic targeting sequence, CKGGRAKDC, held by a Cys1-Cys9 disulfide. The other is a D-amino-acid KLAKLAK repeat designed to disrupt mitochondrial membranes after uptake. A GG linker joins them.
How is it supplied and stored?
It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 2mg vial. Because of the disulfide bond, keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute only when the material is needed.
Is FTPP Adipotide a medicine?
No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
