Research overview
Cagrilintide is a long-acting analogue of amylin, a peptide hormone released alongside insulin, also listed as AM833. It is described as a dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist and is studied for receptor signalling in appetite and metabolic research. Supplied at 5mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.
Amylin receptors form when the calcitonin receptor pairs with one of three receptor activity-modifying proteins, RAMP1, RAMP2 or RAMP3, giving the AMY1, AMY2 and AMY3 subtypes. Native amylin aggregates readily and is short-lived, so analogues have been engineered with changes designed to improve solubility and persistence. Cagrilintide is described in the literature as acting at both amylin and calcitonin receptors, and its signalling is read out mainly as cAMP accumulation in receptor-expressing cells.
Laboratory use includes cAMP and calcium assays in HEK293 or CHO cells co-expressing the calcitonin receptor with each RAMP, radioligand binding competition studies, and peptide aggregation and fibril formation work using thioflavin T fluorescence. It is also used in hypothalamic and brainstem neuron preparations for appetite-related signalling studies. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 5mg vial.

Questions
What is cagrilintide an analogue of?
It is a long-acting analogue of amylin, a peptide hormone released alongside insulin from pancreatic beta cells. Native amylin aggregates easily, which is one reason engineered analogues are used in assays.
How is cagrilintide supplied and stored?
It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 5mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute with a suitable laboratory diluent only when the material is needed.
Is cagrilintide a medicine?
No. The material sold here is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
