Research overview
FOXO4 here refers to a decoy peptide aimed at the interaction between FOXO4 and p53, also listed as FOXO4-DRI. It is a D-retro-inverso design rather than the full FOXO4 transcription factor, and it is used in cellular senescence research. Supplied at 10mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.
FOXO4 is a transcription factor reported to bind p53 in the nucleus of senescent cells and to keep p53 away from mitochondria, where it would otherwise trigger apoptosis. The decoy peptide mimics the FOXO4 region that contacts p53, and the D-retro-inverso form uses D-amino acids in reverse order to resist proteases while keeping a similar side-chain arrangement. In senescent fibroblast cultures it was reported to release p53 and favour selective apoptosis of senescent cells. Findings come mostly from a few laboratories.
Laboratory work uses cultures in which senescence is induced by irradiation, replicative exhaustion or drug exposure, with proliferating cells as controls. Readouts include senescence-associated beta-galactosidase, p53 localisation by imaging, caspase activation and viability assays. The peptide is large for a decoy and is best checked for solubility on a small scale. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10mg vial.

Each lot of FOXO4 is released with a certificate recording identity and purity. Enter the lot number printed on your vial on the lab testing page to view it.
Questions
What does D-retro-inverso mean?
A D-retro-inverso peptide is built from D-amino acids in reverse order. This keeps a similar side-chain layout to the original L-sequence while making the peptide more resistant to proteases, which suits a decoy used in cell culture.
How is it supplied and stored?
It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and prepare solutions only when the material is needed.
Is FOXO4 a medicine?
No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
