Research overview
B7-33 is a 27-residue single-chain peptide based on the B-chain of human relaxin-2, with the sequence VIKLSGRELVRAQIAISGMSTWSKRSL. It is used to probe RXFP1 receptor pharmacology and fibrosis models in heart, kidney, lung and liver cells. Supplied at 6mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.
Relaxin-2 is a two-chain peptide hormone that signals through RXFP1, a G protein-coupled receptor. B7-33 keeps only a shortened B-chain region and has no A-chain, which makes it simpler to synthesise. It is described in the literature as a functionally selective agonist, reported to favour ERK phosphorylation over cAMP accumulation. That bias is the reason it is studied, since the antifibrotic signalling of relaxin is thought to run mainly through the ERK-linked route.
Typical assays use RXFP1-expressing HEK293 cells for cAMP and ERK readouts, and primary fibroblasts or myofibroblasts from heart, kidney, lung or liver for collagen deposition and matrix gene expression. Comparison with full-length relaxin helps define biased signalling and the contribution of the missing A-chain. The peptide is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 6mg vial.

Questions
How does B7-33 differ from relaxin?
Relaxin-2 has an A-chain and a B-chain. B7-33 is a single-chain peptide based on part of the B-chain alone, and it is described as a functionally selective RXFP1 agonist rather than a full mimic of the hormone.
How is B7-33 supplied and stored?
It is a lyophilised powder in a 6mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute with a suitable laboratory diluent only when the material is needed.
Is B7-33 a medicine?
No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
