Research overview
ARA-290 is an eleven-residue peptide derived from the helix B surface of erythropoietin, with an N-terminal pyroglutamate (pGlu-EQLERALNSS). It is studied in vitro and in preclinical models for tissue-protective receptor signalling that does not involve the red-cell pathway. Supplied at 10mg as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only.
Erythropoietin acts through two receptor forms. The homodimeric EPO receptor drives red-cell production, while a heteromer of the EPO receptor and the common beta chain (CD131) is described as an innate repair receptor linked to tissue protection. ARA-290 was designed from the part of erythropoietin thought to contact the second form, and in the literature it is reported not to bind the homodimer. Studies describe cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory signalling in cell and preclinical models.
Researchers use it in receptor-binding and co-expression studies with EPOR and CD131, in cell survival assays under stress, and in cultured neuronal, endothelial and immune cell models. Comparison with full-length erythropoietin helps separate tissue-protective from erythropoietic signalling. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10mg vial, also listed as HBSP.

Questions
How does ARA-290 differ from erythropoietin?
ARA-290 is a short peptide derived from one region of erythropoietin, the helix B surface. It is reported to engage the tissue-protective receptor form without activating the pathway that drives red-cell production.
How is ARA-290 supplied?
It is supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10mg vial. Keep it cold, dry and away from light, and reconstitute with a suitable laboratory diluent only when the material is needed.
Is ARA-290 a medicine?
No. It is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a medicine, food or supplement, and it is not for human or animal use. Buyers must be aged 18 or over.
